UK motion control specialist, Trio Motion Technology, has provided an all-wheel steering control system for a four-corner electric vehicle (EV) demonstrator. Trio partner Sherf Motion Technologies has developed the system for EV manufacturer REE Automotive to showcase independent corner control, including steering and suspension, for each wheel on REE’s flat EV chassis.

Trio Motion Technology has launched a controller for stepper or pulse and direction servo drives with high performance motion control across four axes. The MC404-Z is primarily aimed at OEMs that need fast and accurate motion performance as well as a cost-optimal machine build. The all-in-one controller enables I/O extension through CANbus and can also integrate directly with common PLC and HMI protocols via a built-in Ethernet port.

The launch gives OEMs high performance robot control, motion control, and machine automation from a single controller. Trio’s new robot range will speed up development time and increase reliability for machine applications that require robotic integration.

A liquid filling machine builder has increased machine speed by 8% and boosted machine efficiency to 91% after upgrading from a PLC system to a motion control solution. Liquid filling sachet and tube packaging solutions provider, Unette, has integrated Trio Motion Technology’s complete machine control package including controller, servo drives and motors, to improve its overall productivity. The upgrade has also increased reliability that has reduced downtime, as well enabling a faster machine set-up.

UK motion control manufacturer, Trio Motion Technology, has appointed Intelligent Automation Systems as UK stockist. Intelligent Automation Systems becomes the UK’s largest stockist of Trio’s DX4 servo drive & motor package, which directly integrates with Trio’s motion controllers. Intelligent Automation Systems will also provide OEMs with Trio’s range of motion controllers and I/O.

Trio Motion Technology’s highly compact Flex-6 Nano EtherCAT controller coordinates the motion of up to 64 axes with EtherCAT cycle time down to 125μs. This performance increases the speed and productivity of machines in a pocket-sized format, enabling easy integration and smaller machine design. Click-in I/O modules extend control capability and the Flex-6 Nano also coordinates stepper drives and analogue devices.

Motion control and systems build integrator, Micromech, has become the UK Solutions Partner for Trio Motion Technology, the motion-based manufacturer of machine control systems. Micromech, one of the country’s most experienced motion system integrators, will develop solutions for OEMs and machine builders using Trio’s range of motion controllers, I/O, servo drives and servo motors.

Trio Motion Technology, the motion-first machine solution provider, has appointed Tom Alexander as new company President. Concluding a transitional hand over period, Chris Backhouse, Trio’s co-founder and previous Managing Director, has now stepped down from the role. Fellow Trio co-founder, Roy Bamforth, has also moved from his position of Sales Director to become a Non-Executive Director.
